People: Martin Miller
Martin Miller is a training analyst in private practice of many years experience in the British Psychoanalytic Society and as a part time staff member of the Tavistock Clinic. Before his psychoanalytic training he worked in electronic engineering and he has maintained a strong interest in computing developments. He was responsible for the early computerization of the Tavistock and Portman Clinics and the British Psychoanalytic Society; pioneering the use of computer databases and other information technology. He wrote all the first generation software to run the Adult Department at the Tavistock Clinic as well as software for running the British Psychoanalytic Society and the editing and subscription management of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis. From 1984-1996 he was the first computer consultant of the British Psychoanalytic Society and he is one of the founder directors of PEP.
